The Corsier-Port shipyard was founded in 1909 when Jules Megevet, a captain of industry from Geneva, had a shipyard built at the place named « Gabiule » in the bay of Corsier.
In 1933, Georges Gangloff the renowned coach-builder and navigator, together with his son-in-law, Louis Plojoux, took over and modernized the shipyard..
Throughout its history, Corsier-Port has been distinguished in international competitions: Monaco in the « Championship of the Sea » in 1912, the « Competition of Elegance » in 1921, and in Naples during the 1960 Olympic Games aboard the ship « Ballerina IV ».
Le shipyard has built more than 550 sailing vessels and motorboats in wood, including the biggest yacht in Switzerland in 1939 (G1), and numerous 5,50 and 6-meter JI, and 15 SNS.
Continuing the family tradition, Thierry Plojoux, representing the fourth generation, has formed a yound and dynamic team, highly enthusiastic, and with the ambition of upholding and enhancing the name and reputation of this centery-old entreprise.
